Susan Athey, Ph.D., associate professor of computer
information systems, was awarded a Fulbright Award to teach and study at
the University of Evora in Portugal beginning in April. Athey is one of
three professors in the nation chosen this year to conduct research and
participate in curriculum development in the area of computer
information systems. She is the only scholar to participate at the
master’s level in the field. Fulbright Scholars are chosen for
competence in their fields and for their leadership abilities. Athey
will join the ranks of Fulbright alumni who include Nobel and Pulitzer
Prize winners, governors and senators, ambassadors and artists, prime
ministers and heads of state, professors and scientists, Supreme Court
